Clinical Hypnosis
Every day we naturally experience random hypnotic states in one form or another. When performing on the stage or on a playing field, we often describe the experience of being in "the zone" or "the flow". When absorbed in a book, movie or television program we frequently feel as if we are temporarily "elsewhere in our imagination".
When using hypnosis, I frequently describe myself as an "Imagination Coach". As an "Imagination Coach" I teach how to effectively access and then use our natural hypnotic skills in a selective fashion, in addition to the random hypnotic experiences we have each day. Self-hypnosis offers one the opportunity to create comfort as needed, while achieving personal goals.
A more formal definition of hypnosis:
Hypnosis is a state of inner absorption, concentration and focused attention. When our minds are concentrated and focused, we are able to use our minds more powerfully. Because hypnosis allows people to use more of their potential, learning self-hypnosis enhances self-control.
