“Imagination is everything.
It is the preview of life's coming attractions.”

Hypnotherapy

Every day we naturally experience random hypnotic states in one form or another. When performing on the stage or on a playing field, we often describe the experience of being in “the zone” or “the flow”. When absorbed in a book, movie or television program it frequently feels as if we are temporarily “elsewhere in our imagination”. These are all examples of the random hypnotic states that we experience every day.

I believe it is very important to learn how to effectively use self-hypnosis. It is a self-empowering, self-regulatory skill that can be effective in a variety of life experiences. The use of self-hypnosis enhances self-control.

When teaching self-hypnosis, I frequently describe myself as an “Imagination Coach”. As an “Imagination Coach”, I teach how to effectively access and then use our natural hypnotic skills in a selective fashion, in addition to the random hypnotic experiences we have each day. Self-hypnosis offers one the opportunity to create comfort as needed, while achieving a variety of psychological, physical and/or spiritual goals.

In addition to teaching self-hypnosis, I may use hypnotherapeutic approaches as an adjunct to psychotherapy. Hypnotherapy can be very effective in the treatment of a variety of emotional, physical and spiritual problems. A more formal definition of hypnosis:

Hypnosis is a state of inner absorption, concentration and focused attention. When our minds are concentrated and focused, we are able to use our minds more powerfully. Because hypnosis allows people to use more of their potential, learning self-hypnosis enhances self-control.
